Ramblin Man gets underway with some chilled out Country Blues
“Hi, we are JD and The Straight Shots, we are from New York City.” So begins the least likely NYC band ever. Gentle acoustics, violin, harmonies. All very present and very correct in JD’s sound. “Empty” is dark, “White Bird” shimmers and it all adds up to a pleasant and gentle start to Ramblin’ Man. Even the two new songs they play, the pick of which is the hoedown “Ballyhoo” restrain themselves.
