ARTIST OF THE DAY: EVAN WILLIAMS

Published:

Thanet’s answer to Scott Walker Evan Williams releases his new single ‘I’ll Stick Around’  through the Strap Originals label on Friday 15th July.

‘I’ll Stick Around’ is the haunting, introspective second single from Evan Williams. It has an early Velvets simplicity.

Evan says: “The song is about the feelings of the loneliness felt within a relationship when communication breaks down”.

‘I’ll Stick Around’ was recorded live at The Albion Rooms In Margate and produced by Evan & Dan Lyons (Fat White Family, Phobophobes). Evan Williams sings, plays guitar and keyboards, while Dan Lyons plays drums and bass. The song is available to buy or stream here:  https://lnk.fu.ga/evanwilliams_illstickaround-2

The music video, partially inspired by the video for Joy Division’s ‘Atmosphere,’ was filmed on the roof of the Albion Rooms, and directed by Dean Fragile.

Evan has been building an audience by touring the highways and byways of the UK over the last few years for very little cash, but his light burns bright. He recently went on tour as support act to his label boss Peter Doherty, who was doing some shows in support of ‘The Fantasy Life Of Poetry & Crime’, his recent album with Frederic Lo.

Evan Williams, formerly ace face of Vendettas, grew up in Broadstairs on the isle of Thanet.
