Acclaimed Canadian duo, The Bros. Landreth return with new track ”What in The World’‘ – the second single from their upcoming third album, ‘Come Morning.’ Out May 13, the record marks both a rebirth and refinement of the JUNO-winning band’s blend of North American roots music and harmony-heavy soul. The single also comes with confirmation of their 9-date UK Tour, kicking off at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on September 1st.
With their signature blend of soulful-Americana, and the comforting swells of an assured slide guitar, ‘What In The World’ exhibits a vehement sense of longing, entangled in the warmth of a classic love song. Tasteful fragments decorate the track, embellishing its delicacy and soothing tenderness as the brothers finely embody the ache of being so in awe of someone you’d be lost without them. “This is one of the two tracks that we wrote with Jonathan Singleton (Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town). It’s a pretty straightforward love song that tries to answer the question — what would I do without you in my life?” explains Dave. Since their first collaboration ‘Made Up Mind’ back in 2014, the brothers have often reminisced about their session with Jonathan, highlighting how it was one of their first really formative co-writes, “Joe and I felt like we went to school in a big way on that session. We ended up with a song that we still really love.”
The most immersive, emotive record of the Landreth’s career, upcoming album ‘Come Morning‘ finds brothers Joey and Dave lacing their melody-driven songs with layers of atmospheric synth, organ, and textured guitar. The group’s previous albums shone a light on their strength as a live act, capturing the spontaneity and sonic stomp of a band of hard-touring road warriors. If those records unfolded like snapshots of The Bros. Landreth’s night time shows, then ‘Come Morning‘ sketches a markedly different picture, showcasing the introspection and clarity that comes with a long period of rest. On hand for the album are: Greg Koller (Mix & Master Engineer – Blake Mills, Mac Miller, Dawes, Perfume Genius) and Aaron Sterling (Drummer – John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Lana Del Rey). It’s a transportive album built for the heart, the head, and the headphones.
‘What in the World’ is out from March 16. The album ‘Come Morning’ is out May 13.
