New video heralds new era
Phoenix Calling return with brand new single ‘Rescue Me’, and have launched the video which was premiered on Mosh.
‘Rescue Me’ marks a change in sound for Phoenix Calling; stripped back verses with a focus on the dynamic vocal parts result in a more mature sound, and instrumental parts that are hugely memorable. This is in part thanks to the input from producer Lee Batiuk (Deaf Havana producer Old Souls / Fools & Worthless Liars deluxe edition), who the band brought back in to work with them once again.
‘Rescue Me’ is a very personal song with emotive lyrics and strong message. Vocalist Steve Chapmanexplains:
“Rescue Me was written after seeing a Facebook post by our bass player’s father in remembrance of his Dad who had recently passed away. The words were so poetic, honest and heart felt, that I always felt there was a song in there.
“The song is about loss, memories, reminiscence and being able to find yourself after losing a close friend. Life is short and we should hang onto the times that mean the most to us.”
