One to Treasure

Brand new punkers from Central Cali

Having met in High School in central California earlier this millennium, the three who make up Monster Treasure formed a few years back with the common goal to craft songs inspired by heartbreak, mortality, and financial struggle. Their self-titled debut album will get a UK release via Leisure & District on 27th May as the band hit the UK for the first time ever that month for a variety of live appearances, the first of which to be announced are listed below. The record is mostly about being in love, frustrated, bored and angry in life. The first track you can hear from the album is ‘The Salt’, whose bittersweet melodies and unhinged guitars are indicative of the record’s overall feel.

Fully immersed in their local scene, Briana, Rachel, and RJ forge visceral, melody-fuelled punk nuggets using plenty of distortion and layering the instruments at their disposal to devastating effect. Equal parts scuzzy and sweet, menacing and full of sunshine, ‘Monster Treasure’ is a record that will both unsettle and delight.
