Jack J Hutchinson Releases Third Single & Video ‘Solar Fire’ Ahead Of Forthcoming Album ‘Soul Believer’

Hard rocking guitarist Jack J Hutchinson releases his third single, ‘Solar Fire’, from his upcoming new album ‘Soul Believer’. Co-written with producer Josiah J Manning and featuring Billy Hammett on drums, the track follows Jack’s recent support tour with legendary guitarist Robin Trower, including his biggest ever London show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Jack heads out on his own headline tour this November with his band featuring Greg Smith (bass) and Connor Byrne (drums), before a run of in-store acoustic shows and an album launch show at O2 Academy Islington in January.
Jack wanted ‘Solar Fire’ to combine the weight of hard rock with the melodic hooks of some of his biggest musical influences.
“The word ‘pop’ is often a dirty word in relation to rock, but I wanted to write a heavy song that combined my love of hard riffs with the catchy, melodic power of bands like the Beatles and The Jam,” he explains. “The lyrics are incredibly positive and affirm that even though we may argue and have opposing views, we can always bridge the gap and work things out. It’s about taking a look at yourself and trying to be a better person.”
The track came together quickly while Jack was on the road earlier this year with hard rockers FM. “Night after night we watched them smash the audience with these massive, uplifting choruses. That definitely influenced my writing,” he recalls. “After one of the shows I just sat in my hotel room strumming my guitar and the track came out of me.”
Written incredibly quickly, ‘Solar Fire’ was recorded just a couple of weeks later at Momentum Studios with producer Josiah J Manning.
Jack’s previous single ‘Rise Again’ was recently featured in Classic Rock’s Tracks Of The Week, finishing as runner-up. The magazine described the track as “a big, upward-punching rocker – laced with the richness and grit of his heroes.”
