IT’S ALL LOUISE’S FAULT

Published:

Following her critically acclaimed album Late 44 which received play from BBC Radio 2 and 6Music plus rave reviews from Louder Than War and New Noise, indie punk artist Louise Aubrie comes with her latest single It Was No One’s Fault But Mine, I Must Confess – a perfectly formed pop song with splashes of early Blondie, The Ramones, The Go Gos and other seminal bands from the post-punk era.

The single was produced by Andy Woodard who, as well as producing records, spends his time drumming for seminal punk icon Adam Ant. The record also features some tasteful guitar work from Morrissey MD & co-writer Boz Boorer who pioneered the British rockabilly movement in his band The Polecats. Lyrically the song is inspired by the Cary Grant & Deborah Kerr fifties movie An Affair To Remember and references the misunderstanding that keeps them apart & how their planned meeting at the Empire State Building is the nearest thing to heaven. The song is close to Louise’s heart; being set in her second home of New York and re-tells one of cinema’s greatest love stories.

Louise says of the release “I’m a huge fan of Cary Grant’s movies and what he did with his life. He’s well known for being the master of reinvention, coming from humble beginnings in Bristol and ending up a huge transatlantic movie star. Every artist has a dream of who they want to be and Cary famously said “I pretended to be somebody I wanted to be until I finally became that person”. I find this deeply inspiring.”

Louise Aubrie is a London born and bred artist who splits her time between her hometown and New York City, bringing together her indie post-punk roots with rock and pop melodies.

Having built up a following on America’s East Coast playing venues like New York’s Bowery Electric & Rockwood Music Hall, Louise already has three albums behind her, including a top 5 in the Digital Radio Tracker’s National US Airplay Independent Chart and the most requested release on LA’s Indie 104 station. Now back in London, Louise is promoting her fourth album When I Don’t Love You I’ll Let You Know from where this single comes from.
