Hey Hey Mama It’s The Way He Moves

We reviewed this last week. Here’s the lowdown on Anzi’s new one

Finnish industrial rocker Anzi releases his stunning second album ‘Black Dog Bias’ this week.

The record, which is out now on Chemistry Music Enterprises, confidently fuses together a smorgasbord of industrial, synthpop, hard rock and punk influences, to create an aggressive yet hook-laden sound which Powerplay magazine comments is “just as at home in the moshpit as it is on the dancefloor”.

Anzi approached the project with spirit of adventure; writing and recording on three continents, at locations in Helsinki, London, New York and Egypt, and embracing an eclectic array of collaborators, from Sisters of Mercy guitarist Ben Christo to African Djembe player Ike Chime, before he entrusted mastering duties to Dave Collins (QOTSA, Soundgarden, Alice Cooper).  The resulting record is diverse and dynamic showcase for a multi-talented rising star.

To coincide with the album’s release, Anzi has also shared a second video for the double a-side lead single ‘I Let You Dive / Revival’

Capturing Anzi’s notorious, incendiary live show in full flow, the ‘Revival’ video sees the born-frontman literally spitting fire while flanked by a bevy of dancers.  The raw and gritty visuals perfectly complement ‘Revival’s dark mood, and create a delicious contrast with the sleeker, synth-pop inspired ‘I Let You Dive’.
