UK Punks aim to help the humanitarian crisis in France
Our friends at Papder and Plastick are delighted to announce that they are teaming up with UK band The Run Up (FFO: Strike Anywhere/Iron Chic/passionate melodic punk rock) to release their second EP, entitled ‘Scared of Everything‘.
Beyond that the label say they “are humbled to be in a position to confirm that 100% of the proceeds from the EP shall be going to good causes in Northern France. The band intend use the proceeds to purchase much needed food/temporary shelter and deliver the items personally in Spring 2016.”
To celebrate the announcement they have teamed with New Noise Magazine to bring to you the first and exclusive listen of their track Feels Like Yesterday. To listen the track go here and read the interview with New Noise Magazine here.
If you like what you hear (we’re certain that you will!) or you are simply feeling in charitable mood then go here to get the EP and/or make your donation.
About the decision to donate the proceeds from the record the band acknowledge that “whilst what we propose may only be a small tap (not even a scratch) we hope that this inspires others to take action. For the sake of humanity we need to move past the artificial borders erected by our governments together with finding peaceful solutions as opposed to the needless and on-going conflicts“.
‘Scared of Everything‘ follows the release of their debut EP in October 2014, which is available for free on bandcamp here.

About The Cause
For a long time we as a band have been concerned by the growing number of migrants in Calais. We feel frustrated by the artificial borders that are preventing any meaningful fulfilment of their lives, not least for the reason that many are escaping conflict created or significantly contributed to by the governments that have erected the said borders.
We note from humanitarian sources that following a record number of arrivals across the Mediterranean to southern Europe in the last five months, the number of migrants in Calais has increased dramatically. Sources close to the ground such as the UNHCR Representative in France, Philippe Leclerc, have recorded that “despite the efforts of local groups, the living conditions of the migrants are absolutely appalling and this is provoking increased tensions among different communities of migrants and also with the local population.”
We want to do anything that we can to ease the crisis. We propose raising funds to deliver food and temporary shelter to the region.
