New UK Doomsters want to give you their message

Gévaudan are a doom metal band based in Beds/Herts, UK. The four piece band formed through 2013 with a desire to write heavy original music. Influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Goatsnake, Electric Wizard, Eyehategod and Cult of Luna, their sound blends the heavy riffs and feel of traditional doom with a more modern metal edge.

This is reflected strongly through the band’s debut EP, Message for the Damned. Gévaudan’s name stems from the French folklore – La Bête du Gévaudan. Like the fearsome historical tale, the band’s set ravages, combining heavy riffage with a ranging vocal style to bring a unique doom experience to their audiences.

Bruce Hamilton (guitar) and Andy Salt (bass), worked on the early material from Bruce’s catalogue of riffs. David Himbury (drums) joined shortly after to finalise the backline. Adam Pirmohamed (vocals) completed the line-up, bringing a modern vocal interpretation to the more traditional doom sounding music and a story telling approach to each song.

Andy’s review of the EP will be on this website soon
