FALLING SHEAFS

Published:

Sheffield quintet, SHEAFS have today announced they have signed to Modern Sky. To celebrate, the band have shared the new single ‘En Route Distress’ – A pummeling 4 minutes of Post-Punk mastery, which sets the tone for what looks to be an exciting year for the band.

‘En Route Distress’ is a track that encapsulates the self-reflective experience of driving at night with the intent to lessen the common stressors of everyday life and continues the band’s relationship with two-time Grammy award-winning producer Adrian Bushby.

Speaking on signing, the band said: “We are extremely proud and delighted we have signed our very first record deal – joining the Modern Sky family. We would like to thank everyone who has ever supported the band in any way. This is something that we all dreamt of since our first steps together. Thank you for believing in us, you’ve allowed our far-fetched pipe dream to become a reality. We cannot wait to welcome what the future holds, and most importantly, we cannot wait to do so together.”

Currently, SHEAFS are mid-way through a string of support shows with legendary punks, The Buzzcocks. They will once again take to the road throughout May for a string of headline shows, before a packed summer schedule, to be announced soon.

After releasing their debut EP “Vox Pop” in 2020, the band scored a ‘Next Wave’ on BBC Radio 1’s Indie Show with Jack Saunders. This has been followed by consistent support across major national radio stations including BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio, Radio X and Virgin Radio, and the band have also earned press plaudits from essential titles like DIY, Dork, Gigwise and more over the years.

SHEAFS have secured previous support slots with artists such as The Slow Readers Club (2021), Red Rum Club (2021) Squid, Idles, Greta Van Fleet, The Coral and The Amazons. They have previously played Reading Festival, Isle of Wight, Live at Leeds, Dot to Dot, Y Not Festival, Tramlines and The Great Escape.

Keep your eyes peeled for more new music to come from the Steel City quintet over the next few months.
