Vocalist Lucas Woodland comments – “Penance is very much just an overview of happiness, sadness, life and
death. A lot of the lyrics I had produced over the space of months in my own time, and I just felt like this song did a great job of collecting my thoughts. We wanted to make sure the video did the lyrics justice, so we made sure to include quite a lot of open-ended metaphors so that the viewer could really take their own spin on it.”
