Barnes Stormer

New track and tour dates for Charlie Barnes

Talented singer & multi-instrumentalist Charlie Barnes released his debut album ‘More Stately Mansions’ earlier this year, with The Independent UK calling it “soulful lonesome melancholic singing with grandiose alternative rock bombast”. Charlie was also recently announced as a touring member of English indie-pop band Bastille, and was seen on festival stages throughout Summer including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Rock Am Ring & many more.

Now he is pleased to announce a brand new single as well as solo UK tour dates for this October. The single is the title track from the album ‘More Stately Mansions’, albeit a reimagined version. Charlie had this to say about it:

“Everybody involved in the album was in fairly unanimous agreement that the main vocal hook on this song is one of the record’s major highlights, so we decided it made sense to at least attempt to rip it apart and put it back together again as something more linear. I almost see this version as more of a remix than an edit. Because some of the sections were a little bit difficult to fit together in a different order, I had to come up with a few new parts and sound effects to help smooth things over. Nothing’s been lost from the original as such, it’s just been reimagined.”

The ‘More Stately Mansions’ single will be released digitally on the 23rd October 2015, and will also feature a B-side titled ‘Easy (Listening) Kid’, another reworked version of an album track. You can check out the album version of ‘More Stately Mansions’ here:
