Andy tries his best not to miss anything out
This is, in many ways, the worst of these top twenty lists to compile.
For one thing, there’s the sheer amount of gigs involved – this year I personally went to 126 (if you include day one and two of Bloodstock as two gigs, which for counting purposes I do) and for another, there’s the not inconsiderable fact that I started writing about music as a means to review the gigs I went to.
In short. I take it exceptionally seriously.
As there are so many bands that I want to include here, but only twenty can actually make the list, I would like to give mention to some brilliant shows that didn’t make the final cut. There are five in the main, these are: Theia
Camel, Yes, Ian Anderson and Anathema, who all thrilled me in various ways but didn’t get into the top twenty. Here from 1-20, are the twenty gigs that made me want to join a rock n roll band.
