Manc hardcore band release new video

Manchester based post-hardcore band Cascade have released the video for their new single, Deadweight.

Influenced by bands such as Hands Like Houses and Emarosa, Cascade combine soaring vocals with melodic hardcore riffs to create their huge sound.

Deadweight features smooth vocal melodies and atmospheric undertones juxtaposed by interspersed visceral screams and a huge chorus heightened by intricate guitar riffs.

The single will be available to listen via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Cascade Bandcamp from Saturday 6 August.

Scott Jackson, drummer of Cascade, said: “’Deadweight’ is about how modern life has become reliant on material possessions such as electronic devices and social media apps etc.”

He added: “These things were designed to help better our lives, but they’re increasingly becoming a burden. People are becoming more and more reliant on them to seek gratification and put pressure on themselves to maintain an ‘online’ persona. They create anxiety and it seems that nobody speaks face to face any more. The song is just a reminder that we’re all human and we shouldn’t be afraid to speak to people face to face and not be defined by a ‘social norm’.”

Cascade have recently signed to Red Cardinal Music Management with manager Liam Connolly and plan to tour the UK in the latter months of this year.

Keep up to date with tour announcements on Cascade’s social media.
