VON HERZEN BROTHERS UK LIVE SHOWS

Published:

Finland’s Von Hertzen Brothers return to the UK for a handful of shows next week as follows:

28th November – Troon, Scotland – Winter Storm Festival

29th November – Buckley, Wales – The Tivoli

30th November – Porthcawl, Wales – Planet Rockstock

2nd December – London, England – The Garage

The shows follow the release of the brothers’ 9th album ‘In Murmuration’ (October 2025).

The new album creatively juxtaposes their previous release ‘Red Alert in the Blue Forest’ which was an epic prog masterpiece.  Whilst their imaginative multi-genre hard rock and harmonies remain, the band’s artistic pendulum has swung more towards an air of optimism and renewal. The result is a work filled with big choruses, stadium rock anthems, art-rock with 90s vibes and catchy power-pop.

“When creating this album we wanted to make sure we had some fun songs to play live,” says singer/guitarist Mikko Von Hertzen, “the new songs have changed the energy and the dynamic of our live show experience to be a bit more “rocky”.

The recent addition of multi-instrumentalist Markus Pajakkala has also brought with it a freshness and some of those iconic sax parts can now be experienced live.

The band are renowned for their beautiful harmonies, arrangements and instrumentation whilst still punching you in the face with their power.  Consensus dictates that VHB are indeed ‘rock’ but we can’t be any more specific than that.  Von Hertzen Brothers will delight fans of all corners of the genre: classic, hard, punk, alternative, prog, art, folk, pop.  What is clear is that Von Hertzen Brothers will bring arena sized energy and sound and this will be an unmissable show.

Support in Buckley and London comes from Matted.

Matted is the sound of kids brought up on the classics, creating their own evolution for the 2020s. The raw energy of AC/DC, industrial tones of Nine Inch Nails, and the avant-garde of Mr Bungle, all twisted and turned into something totally unprecedented. This concoction of influences, rarely cited by ones so young, has resulted in a familiar yet unique sound: a blend of emotion, fury, experimentation and authenticity.  Definitely worth getting there early for.
