TEACH US, PET

Published:

PET NEEDS are four lads who through the nature of chaos all landed in Essex, wide-eyed, out of breath and ready to create something huge. With explosive live performances of fractured anthems, they are currently smashing sets throughout the UK, screaming stories of chance meetings, self-destruction, the imposter syndrome and arrogant piss artists.

‘How To Perfectly Pretend’ is the new single released on Regent Street Records on 5th April 2019 and the band are currently lining up live shows for around this and the summer.    With two previous EP’s released (‘As Kites Fly By Pylons’ and ‘Everything But Your Balance’) and performances at Camden Rocks, Colchester Arts Centre, John Peel Centre in Stowmarket and local festivals under their belt this new track takes the step up with a cracking rock anthem accompanied with a stunning video.

Taking influences from acts as diverse as Against Me, The Cribs, Frank Turner, Jamie T and lyrics from a modern day John Cooper Clark the band have honed their sound over the last few years.  Compiled of brothers Johnny Marriott (vocals) and George Marriott (guitar) and joined by Rich Gutierrez (bass) and Jack Lock (drums) they recorded the new track with fellow musician Tom Donovan from the band Monster Florence at his studio in Essex.  He also filmed the video there, all on an iPhone.  The result is a fabulous piece of film looking infinitely more impressive than many videos with a much bigger budget.
