BLUE NATION are back with their brand new single ‘Strangers’, which will be released via all streaming platforms and download sites on 5th May 2023.
The track is lit with joyous sentiment and uplifting melodies, leading into a Clapton esque chorus. As ever the foundations of ‘Strangers’ is build on the trade-mark Blue Nation riff.
Lead vocalist Neil states:
“We actually wrote this during pre-production! We took several songs into Trev (Trevor Gibson, Producer of the last EP- Echoes) and we landed on 3 and needed a fourth. Each night after pre production in the studio I would go home and write till about 2am and mess about with ideas. I would then bring them back to the lads the next day and we would try them out and we created Strangers.
The lyrics came from a conversation we actually had in Pre production. I can’t tell you who but it was about a short lived relationship that lasted about a week and the girl told one of the band members that “She would wait in his house forever” well that just got me thinking about all the times my friends and myself have been in that situation when you are with the wrong person and both of you know it but it always seems to drag on together.”
Blue Nation, a 3piece band from Birmingham, use Riff based Melodic Blues Rock from a reservoir of influences, including Beatles, Cream, Zeppelin, Brit Pop 90’s, more recently Rival Sons and Vintage Trouble, to create their memorable sound. Their songs are delivered by three accomplished musicians, fronted with stunning vocals. All backed up with impressive gig experience, stage presence and great songs.
The band are currently shortlisted for the Blues Emerging Act of the Year 2023. The event is set to take place at London’s prestigious Bush Hall this April.
Blue Nation’s previous E.P ‘Echoes’ received phenomenal response from media and fans alike, gaining traction from BBC Introducing , Amazing Radio and Emerging Rock Bands as well as key tastemakers such as gigantic, rush on rock and V13. The band have played over 42 shows over the last year appearing at such venues as 100 Club and festivals such as Rock and Blues Festival, Love Rocks, Just Push Play and Cambridge Rocks,
