TAKE A RIDE

Saddle up! Feral Family ride again with Wee Van Bee, November 4

Imagine the titular Ghost Town by the Specials was slap-bang in the middle of a volatile Spaghetti Western and you’ll be partway down the dusty trail to Feral Family’s latest.

Sauntering into the pre-dawn “no good shanty town” to banshee-like ‘a-wah-ah’s’, Wee Van Bee shoots from the hip and erupts into carnage without warning.

Speaking of their anti-hero, the band say: “Wee Van Bee preys on the weak and vulnerable, shucking his snake-oil remedies place to place. But far beyond being out to make a quick buck – there is something far darker at stake”.

‘Take a bite… it won’t hurt’, the chorus taunts with a menacing charm.

His victims never see the light of day again”, tease the band, hinting at a torment somewhere between soul-stealing hallucination and the paranormal: “banished to another dimension, it’s when they come down, that’s when the real pain starts…

As their name suggests, Feral Family are hungry and relentless, it’s in their DNA. Raised in a quiet seaside town on the East coast of Yorkshire, they’ve been hailed as “a perfect blend of haunting vocals mixed with the in-your-face sound of The Killers and Foals”, Christian Carlisle (BBC Introducing Sheffield).

Previous singles have reached #3 and #1 respectively in the iTunes Rock Chart and have been playlisted across BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, Total Rock and beyond. The band will release their debut album later in the new year. A mesmerizing live force, Feral Family will be coming to a venue near you soon with gigs already booking into 2023 across the UK. Next up, the band appear with Bag of Cans and Solar Eyes at Fierce Panda’s Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes night, Nov 10, Shoreditch, London
