The Sunset Donkeys is an English/ American Rock Band featuring Chris Constantinou, Preston Heyman, Hal Lindes and Glen Lynch. Their second single ‘(BLOW) Won’t Let You Go’ is made available now on the Cleopatra Record Label. The band’s musical history draws upon the hybrid influences of Rock / Punk / Funk, Rhythm and Blues and Folk, Post Punk, Pop Punk, Pop, working class British pub rock/folk.
Produced, Mixed and featuring Preston Heyman, ‘(BLOW)’ , recorded during a wild night in St John’s Studio, London, kicks in with The Sunset Donkeys‘ trademark stomping rhythm, punching, gritty, street-fighting twangy guitars; fuelled by Bogdan Wiczling’s blazingly emphatic and deliciously ferocius drums. Old school rock and R&B at its best! Yet sounding uncompromisingly fresh, savage, REAL!
Psychedelic undertones ricochet around the track, injected by Josephine Banham’s hallucinogenic and sweetly-menacing keyboard, and underpinned by mesmeric, hypnotic melodies and BVs.
Constantinou and Lynch’s unbridled raw chemistry, writing partnership and character radiate via frontman Lynch’s gritty, savagely soulful vocal backed—or more accurately haunted—by Constantinou’s transcendental, twisted, bewitchingly dark BVs.
‘BLOW (Won’t Let You Go)’ follows on from the first single ‘Setting It All On Fire’ as The Sunset Donkeys look to what promises to be an exciting 2025 with rumours of an album release and a back catalogue bursting with many, many more hits currently lined up for release.
Their music is summed up as “The Bastard Love Child of British Invasion having a one-night stand with the Deep South and being raised in a Detroit R&B Orphanage”.
With influences taking in The Who, The Small Faces, The Kinks, The Clash, The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, The Animals, The Sunset Donkeys have emerged with a sound and a swagger all of their own.
