Steve Harley has been forced to cancel five sold out concerts scheduled for next week, as he has sustained a broken hip on his right leg. He was taken immediately to hospital last night to be examined by doctors who confirmed the damage and that there is no way that these shows could take place.
Known, of course, for his legendary catalogue of hits, Steve Harley is also famed for his love of touring and live shows, and the cancellation of shows is always a last resort. In this unfortunate instance, the situation was totally outside anyone’s control.
Steve Harley said, “I am distraught, just shattered to have let so many people down. I need to work on my recovery, which is likely to take at least 12 weeks to be completed. I hope to back out there soon.”
It is hoped that the shows can be rescheduled for later in the year; more information to come on that soon.
The shows affected are as below. Additionally, there are planned shows in March and April but no decision has yet been taken on their status. An announcement will be made soon; ticket holders should monitor www.steveharley.com.
