The UK’s own Southern Rockers, Sons Of Liberty, self-release their third album ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ today, Friday 23rd February 2024. The band have run of dates with the Mike Ross Band throughout March in support of the release, a limited run of July co-headline UK shows with US act Preacher Stone, plus an Autumn Tour with special guests Kit Trigg.
Sons of Liberty said, “Very proud as we are of ‘Aces & Eights’, we set out not to make this a Mk2 version. We wanted all the new songs to be ‘big’ songs…like it’s very much still us, but we’ve been seriously working out! We have such a strong creative team around us now too, and we brought all of this talent together to craft ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’.
“We never really stop song writing and this album came through a big period of change for us, so it took a lot longer than we had planned to create… but everything happens for a reason, and hopefully the results speak for themselves. It’s about real life, people like you and me, and hopefully our songs will resonate.”
This is the first album to feature Russ Grimmett fronting the band. He has been welcomed with open arms by fans on the live circuit – the band have a freshness and drive that will see them lifted to the next level. Sons of Liberty are Russ Grimmett, Fred Hale and Andy Muse (Guitars), Mark Thomas (Bass) and Steve Byrne (Drums). Their first album ‘Animism’ dropped in 2020, and the follow up ‘Aces & Eights’ landed the following year. The band have already performed with acts like Preacher Stone, FM, Grand Slam and Molly Hatchet, Sons Of Liberty can hold their own on any stage.
Sons of Liberty describe ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ as “forever music”, and it’s hard to disagree.
