Screaming Eagles set to release new video single ‘Thunder and Lightning’ from forthcoming studio album ‘High Class Rock N Roll’.
Northern Irish rockers Screaming Eagles are set to make their long-awaited and highly anticipated release of new music with the lead track and video single ‘Thunder and Lightning’ on 30th June 2023 – watch here. The song is taken from their brand-new 10 track studio album titled ‘High Class Rock N Roll’, set for release on 6th October 2023 via FTF Records, the band’s own independent label. Front man Chris Fry describes the lead track ‘Thunder and Lightning’ as “a face-melting powerhouse of an anthem, it’s raw, energetic and we think it captures just what the Screagles do best. You’ll wish your sound system could go to 11”. The accompanying video was shot on location in both Belfast and rural Co. Antrim which sees this ‘Rocky’ inspired nod to we can do this, if you put the hard graft in, you’ll reap the rewards. The album will be in CD and vinyl format and available to pre-order from www.screamingeaglesrock.com from 30th June.
A covid-stricken Spring of March 2020 abruptly put an end to band life as they knew it. They didn’t see each other for quite a while and in hindsight, this did no harm as in their own words they “felt refreshed and reinvigorated, there was some ideas for new song’s and we had the hunger for making another record together again. Our rehearsal space is almost a home from home for us and we couldn’t wait to get back together again”. Working with renowned producer Guillermo ‘Will’ Maya, known for producing the likes of ‘The Answer’, the album was recorded at Start Together Studios in Belfast and mixed at Los Rosales Studio in Madrid. Adrian commented “Will was fantastic to work with, right from the off we felt at ease when we met for the first time in London and we knew we had the right man for the job, there was great chemistry and he really helped in extracting the best from every one of us”.
It’s been just over 10 years since they recorded their highly acclaimed debut ‘From The Flames’ and no doubt they’ll stick to their roots, they certainly know what kind of band they are. Ryan recalls when they were about to go back into the studio and “the excitement of how we can bring our new collection of ideas in its genesis to seeing how it transforms into a great rock n’ roll record with Will at the helm. We bunkered down every day for two weeks, had fun with a bunch of guitars, amps and sounds and watched it all come together”.
Having formed in 2012, charismatic front man Chris Fry, guitar virtuoso Adrian McAleenan and the ever-powerful rhythm section of Ryan Lilly & Kyle Cruikshank, Screaming Eagles emerged onto the rock scene and since then have universally gained rave reviews from fans and critics alike, having featured in the likes of Classic Rock Magazine and other prominent publications. They have toured the length and breadth of the UK at Ramblin’ Man Fair, Camden Rocks London, Hard Rock Hell Wales, Planet Rock Wintersend, Bonfest in Kirriemuir Scotland – International Bon Scott Festival along with stints in Germany and France. On their own shores they have played some high-profile shows including Belsonic Festival with Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators and special guests with Buckcherry during their Irish tour. It really is no surprise that they have cemented their reputation for being a hard-working, hard-playing outfit. Perhaps most notable, is their relationship with Sony Pictures Entertainment in the US. Sony has secured the rights to use their debut single ‘Rock N Roll Soul’ which has featured on two different series, Brian Cranston’s series ‘Sneaky Pete’ on Amazon Prime and Tim Olyphant’s ‘Justified’ on Netflix. Kyle remarked “One day completely out of the blue we received the e-mail directly from Sony Pictures. How did they even know about this song by four lads from Northern Ireland! The exposure has been incredible, and we’ve just finished talks for the track to be featured in the second series of Justified – Primeval, soon to be released in summer 2023. Without doubt one of our proudest moments.”
