The Vintage Explosion burst onto the scene in October 2022 when a video of them performing Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change is Gonna Come’ went viral on TikTok and Facebook. Since then, they have achieved two No.1 Live Albums on the iTunes Worldwide Blues Chart as well as reaching the top ten on the US Billboard Blues Charts.
The band made their first television appearance in March when they were specially invited to perform at the BBC Big Birthday Bash as the house band and followed that with their national TV debut on ITV’s This Morning. Having sold out a 14-date UK tour this year and having a national tour booked for 2024, Sir Rod Stewart endorsed them: “The Vintage Explosion’s Willie is the best white soul singer I’ve ever heard“.
Their debut studio album ‘Havin’ Such a Good Time’ is due for release on the 4th of August across all streaming platforms, which coincides with their show at The Fruitmarket in Glasgow where they perform to over 1,500 fans.
The album of self-penned tracks was created and recorded in a style befitting of the genre. All were written and recorded live within 2 weeks; just as it would have been done back in the day, in the age of retro wave.
The Vintage Explosion take influences from a range of genres such as Western Swing, Jazz, Blues and rock ‘n’ roll that resurrects the golden era of music. It will take you on a journey with a respectful nod to Sam Cooke, Big Joe Turner and Louis Prima.
‘Seeing is believing, you’ll certainly not be sitting down‘.
