Jamie Freeman has released a final teaser of his upcoming record ‘Dreams About Falling’ which is out this Friday, May 17th, on Union Music Label, and announced he will be supporting the US artist Wade Bowen on tour this summer.
The new single ‘Down Range’ is a duet between Freeman and the brilliant Angaleena Presley, whose latest release with group Pistol Annies debuted at number one on the UK Country Albums chart and reached number fifteen in the Billboard Official US chart as well as featuring Barry Walsh – Gretchen Peters’ husband – on piano.
‘Down Range’ is a heartbreaking tale of a Gulf War veteran returning to his wife that Angaleena Presley duetted with Freeman on especially for this album. Freeman explains:
“It describes the changes he’d undergone after experiencing combat first hand. His wife barely recognises him, and even he knows that he’s not the same man any more. ‘Down range’ is a phrase that basically means in combat. It’s a love song, she wanting the old man back; him unable to return, even though he’s back in body. It’s about what war does to people, and their loved ones.”
Previously, Freeman announced the album with the first single ‘All In The Name’, which premiered at The Boot and was described by them as “…a solid reminder to stick it out with the person you love, even when things get a little tough.”
