PIGS, the New York City noise-rock group featuring Dave Curran from Unsane, Jim Paradise from Player’s Club and Freshkills and renowned producer Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Converge, Made Out of Babies, Unsane, Keelhaul) are back with their highly anticipated second album “Wronger” and is a monumental achievement, surpassing their 2012 debut “You Ruin Everything” in every way.
In this album, Pigs are up to their usual tricks, forging a visceral, energetic and abrasive noise-rock sound that brings to mind the glorious years of labels like Touch and Go, Amphetamine Reptile and Sub Pop.
The trio’s songwriting skills have grown immensely since their debut effort, not that “You Ruin Everything” was lacking anything in particular, but instead, the band’s dynamic and powerful Unsane-meets-Jesus Lizard approach feels more fleshed out on this record.
Once again produced by Pigs and Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio in Brooklyn, “Wronger” features Julie Christmas from Made Out of Babies fame as guest vocalist on the song “Bug Boy” and is set for release on October 2nd via Solar Flare Records.
