The Mavericks continue their year-long 30th Anniversary celebration with a new album, newly announced U.S. tour dates, and a brand new video for their new single at country radio.
To celebrate their 30th, and pay tribute to artists and songs that have been part of the journey, the Mavericks give us a brand new album called Play the Hits (Mono Mundo Recordings via Thirty Tigers), an eclectic 11-track playlist of songs they cut their teeth on, all made famous by other people, now disassembled and totally reimagined in signature Mavericks style. Produced by the duo of Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Melissa Etheridge) and Raul Malo, the group’s lead singer and co-founder, Play the Hits is a testament to how great these songs are, and how this band can get inside the material and make it their own.

The Spring 2020 leg of the band’s 30th World Tour will bring the band from Texas to California and Nevada, then east through Pennsylvania, a three-nighter in Kansas City, back through Indiana, and then southeast to South Carolina and Florida. This video is a ridiculous representation of all the cliches you hear about ‘road life.’ We thought we’d have some fun with that, and we did!
