LIFE IN THE FAST LAINEY

Published:

Last night, multi-award-winning singer and songwriter, Lainey Wilson reigned as the most nominated and awarded female artist, bringing home four wins at the 2023 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards including: Female Artist of the Year (presented to her by her idol Dolly Parton), Album of the Year for her critically acclaimed album Bell Bottom Country, and Music Event of the Year and Visual Media of the Year for her collaborative hit “wait in the truck” with HARDY. The reigning New Female Artist and Song of The Year winner, Wilson is this year’s most nominated and most awarded female artist with six total nominations. The last female to win New Female Artist of the Year, then Female Artist of the Year the following year was Carrie Underwood in 2005/2006.

Kicking off her first performance of the evening the country-starlet hit the stage alongside label mate Jelly Roll to debut and perform their latest collaboration “Save Me“, which is now available on all streaming platforms. For her second appearance, she delivered an electrifying show with her critically acclaimed and fan favourite track “Grease“. Listen to  “Save Me” now here.

“I cannot thank The Academy of Country Music enough for their ongoing support throughout my career” said Wilson. “From meeting Dolly Parton for the first time as she presented the Female Artist of the Year award, to getting to perform alongside Jelly Roll, an absolute rulebreaker in the industry, I will never forget this night”.

Recently breaking the record for the shortest gap between No.1 singles at US Country Radio with her song “Heart Like a Truck” and her “wait in the truck” collaboration with HARDY, there’s no sign of Wilson slowing down, as her latest single “Watermelon Moonshine” (as heard on Yellowstone) will be shipped to radio on Monday, 29th May.

Already this year, Wilson has won four ACM Awards, two CMT Music Awards, completed a 28-date sold out US headlining tour, been honoured as Billboard Women in Music’s 2023 “Rulebreaker”, started touring stadiums with Luke Combs as support on the US leg of his world tour and performed overseas on the main stage at C2C Festival in London, Dublin and Glasgow.
