The exciting 4-piece alt-pop punk rock band Skinny Knowledge release their honest and no punches pulled new single ‘Goes Around Comes Around‘ on all digital platforms. “2022 was a pretty traumatic year for me, and I went through some real difficult times involving who I thought were two of the closest people in my life.” frontman and guitarist Andy L Smooth wryly shrugs and states, “It’s probably the most personal and emotionally charged song I’ve written to date.“
Opening up further, “It’s about betrayal, disloyalty, heartbreak, anger, moving on, and a big old f*ck you as a result of the trauma of being locked in a cell for 6 hours through no fault of my own. This song definitely served as a self-therapeutic mechanism for me. Let’s just say I’m no longer close with either of those involved, but luckily for them, they have each other.” As a consequence, Andy lost the urge to put pen to paper but found an ally in teaming up with Matt Bigland from Dinosaur Pile-Up to co-write; “I explained the entire situation to Matt to give him an understanding, and it just went from there, he’s a good friend. The song began as the intro guitar riff, and it built over the course of the day. We managed to get the whole track written in about 6 hours. Although the theme of the song is about my own personal circumstance, I hope other people can relate in their own way whatever they’ve been through – stick this song on and do exactly that.“
