JAMES BAY CELEBRATES

Published:

Today, three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated and BRIT Award-winning multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist James Bay celebrates the tenth anniversary of his breakthrough 2014 full-length debut LP, Chaos And The Calm, with the release of Chaos And The Calm 10 Years—out now via Mercury/EMI Records. Listen HERE.

Chaos And The Calm 10 Years notably boasts seven previously unreleased Original Session demos actually recorded at the onset of the album’s making back in 2014. These include initial unheard versions of the definitive singles “Let It Go (Original Session), “Hold Back The River (Original Session), and more. This cohort of never-before-heard material transports listeners back to the genesis of Bay‘s first seminal body of work by showcasing the songs at their most nascent stages and capturing the magic of their creation in the process.

To herald its arrival, he also just unveiled three brand new exclusive shirts on his official webstore—HERE. Check out the full tracklisting below.

Earlier this week, Bay lit up the stage during the Season Finale of NBC’s The Voice with a seismic and showstopping rendition of his latest single “You And Me Time” alongside nine-time GRAMMY® Award-winning icon Sheryl Crow. It marked their first television performance of the song and quickly entered the Top 10 on US iTunes following the broadcast, watch HERE. The latter also graces Bay’s latest UK top 4 album, Changes All The Time (Deluxe)—available now listenHERE.

Bay just concluded his sold-out “Up All Night” Tour across North America this Spring. He caps off this stateside run with a major spot on Boston Calling Festival in Boston, MA on May 24. This follows a sold-out UK tour alongside sold out Wembley Arena show in February, with many festivals headline slots over the summer to come.

Chaos And The Calm initially arrived on March 23, 2015 clinching #1 on the UK Albums Chart, it has since reached 3 x Platinum status in the UK, whilst singles, “Let It Go” and “Hold Back The River” are certified 4 x Platinum, (7x-Platinum and 2x Platinum certification in the US). Total album streams are now over 7.5 billion, with over 1.1 billion in the UK alone, with James joining the BRIT’s Billion Club last year. In 2016, Bay picked up the BRIT Award for British Male Solo and garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best New Artist, Chaos And The Calm received a nomination for “Best Rock Album, and “Hold Back The River” notched a nomination for “Best Rock Song. The record continues to generate millions of streams and has established Bay as a global phenomenon.

This year, the “Up All Night” Tour marked his first run in support of his acclaimed fourth full-length album, Changes All The Time. Entering the UK Official Albums Chart at No.4, it has already eclipsed 60 million global streams and counting and incited widespread critical acclaim. Clash Magazine said, “A potent songwriter, ‘Changes All The Time’ helps to reinforce James Bay’s musicality… it’s a record that justifies his place in the upper echelons of British music.” Associated Press  marvelled, “What “Changes All the Time” makes clear is that positivity — even in moments of tension — is Bay’s love of the craft shining through…The folk stylings of “Changes All the Time” are likely to be embraced by nostalgic fans and new ones alike”, Guitar.com, raved, “James Bay has already established himself as one of the most enchanting and emotionally-fuelled songwriters of the modern day.”

The lead single from the album, “Up All Night” with The Lumineers and Noah Kahan was a UK Radio 2 A-list record, with all subsequent single releases from the album being heavily supported by the station. In the US “Up All Night” catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay Chart as Bay‘s first-ever radio #1 in the States.  Bay recently released Changes All The Time (Deluxe) featuring four new singles including “You and Me Time” with Sheryl Crow and collaborations with Jon Batiste and Maggie Antone.

The new album and tour further prove Bay has cemented himself as a career artist, reaching new heights following the release of his definitive breakthrough smash “Let It Go,” which landed over a decade ago in 2014. A classic hit, “Let It Go” scored a top 10 UK hit, and cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, accumulating over 3 billion global streams and claiming a spot among Spotify’s prestigious “Billions Club” and 6x-platinum status. James Bay’s total career streams are now nearly 9 billion.

Last year, Bay opened up for Bruce Springsteen at London’s own BST Hyde Park and joined his friends The Lumineers and Noah Kahan on tour.

Be on the lookout for a whole lot more from James Bay soon!
