HANDS UP

Broken Hands have released the brand new single ‘For The Night’, taken from their upcoming album Split In Two out August 7th via SO Recordings. Pre-order here.

‘For The Night’ shows a new side to the acclaimed Kent rock band with a heartfelt anthemic guitar ballad of stadium-sized proportions.

Regarding the single Broken Hands’ frontman Dale Norton says, “‘For The Night’ as a song talks about being separated from loved ones during lengthy tours, which to be honest is exactly how I’ve felt during lock down as me and my partner have had to live separately. It’s crazy that life can separate us, regardless of our decisions.

“This track is definitely the odd one out on this record, but we think it’s important to show a different side of what we do musically. We thought what better way for a rock band to do that than release a ballad.”

‘For The Night’ is the latest track to be taken from the forthcoming album Split In Two. It follows the recent single and album opener ‘Can You Feel It’, which introduces the new record with a slick grungy groove and swagger, as well as the previously releases singles ‘Friends House’ and ‘Wrong Track’, which offer a further taste of the dramatic fuzzy anthems and razor-sharp lyricism to be found on the album.

Split In Two has been produced by Julian Emery (Nothing But Thieves, Lissie) and mixed by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Ghost). The record has been inspired by the band’s successful yet gruelling life on the road, particularly in the US, which has seen them play arenas across North America, but also the challenges the band has faced within the industry.

This feeds into the sound of the record which showcases the band’s live dynamics, infused with industrial tones, Americana-esque moments and 70s rock colours.

Split In Two will be released on all DSPs, CD and vinyl on August 7th via SO Recordings. Fans who pre-order the album will be granted access to an exclusive live stream performance where the band will play the new album in it’s entirety the day before release.

Of the upcoming performance, Norton comments, ”This live show experience is something we’ve wanted to have a crack at for ages! It will take place in our hometown Faversham at the independent ‘Arden Theatre’. We are filming it in collaboration with our good friend Chris Wade (DogBrain Video Productions). We really want this to be a HD peek of the band playing new material for the first time, and to be honest we won’t ever play this album in its entirety again!”

Tickets for the live stream are also available via Dice here.
