Leeds-based rock trio PULLED APART BY HORSES have today released punchy new single ‘Sleep In Your Grave’ which is out now on Alcopop! Records.

The track is the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming fifth album Reality Cheques, which is set for release on 30th September 2022 via Alcopop! Records.

Serving as the sonic blueprint for the next PABH chapter, the new album was inspired by late ’70s garage rock, post-punk, and heavy weight rockers like Iggy And The Stooges, The Rolling Stones, Bowie and The Cramps.

Commenting on the band’s sonic evolution for the new record, vocalist Tom Hudson says: “One major thing we all chatted about was the ‘less is more’ approach, so we made a collective decision for me to ditch my guitar. It was a logical and simple way of trimming the fat, it gave us a more direct ‘to the point’ urgency. Instead of the racket of multiple duelling guitars and a cacophony of noise, everything had a pocket to sit in. A sonic corner. PABH 2.0.”

“Whilst we were working through writing and jamming, we also experimented with load of different recording techniques, an array of vintage microphones that we’d accumulated, trashed 70’s WEM guitar combo amps, routing vocals through old fender spring reverb heads, manipulating sounds with Space Echo tape effects and a load of other things for us to play around with.”

Having already performed incendiary live sets at 2000 Trees and TRUCK Festival this summer, the band recently announced an extensive run of October 2022 UK headline tour dates in support of the new record, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).

The band’s latest limited edition 7″ vinyl AA side single featuring previously-released A side ‘First World Problems’ and AA side single ‘Rinse & Repeat’ is also out now on a 600 limited edition press of black and clear vinyl, with the artwork hand-screen printed by the band.

After a period of rest, reflection and transformation, in 2021 PABH signed to their new home at Alcopop! Records for the release of their long-awaited forthcoming fifth studio album in September 2022.

Recorded at ‘The Nave’ in Leeds, Reality Cheques was produced by Pulled Apart By Horses and Matt Peel (Menace Beach, Cowtown, Grammatics), mixed by Matt Peel, and mastered by John Davis (Led Zeppelin, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Blur) at Metropolis, London.

The album’s lead single ‘First World Problems’ was released late last year, with the track picking up radio support from Huw Stephens at BBC 6music and John Kennedy at Radio X and a swathe of support from NME, DORK, UPSET, GIGWISE, DSCVRD and many more.

With the trials and tribulations of their critically acclaimed UK album chart #12 fourth record The Haze behind them, Pulled Apart By Horses have emphatically returned, and are approaching 2022 with fresh perspectives, open minds, and a flurry of creativity—writing new songs, defining their sound, and wrestling back control of their own artistic process.
