Country rocker and bearded businessman Tim Montana today releases two new songs, “Good By Me” and “I Ain’t Ashamed.” The sister songs, both of which celebrate good character, follow Tim’s 2021 album, Long Shots. Leaning further into his Country influences than ever before with its steel guitar and traveling beat, “Good By Me,” is a feel good song that celebrates good folks doing good deeds. In a time where divisiveness seems ever present, Tim encourages the world to have each other’s backs, without being preachy. While “Good By Me” celebrates the kindness of others and good heartedness, “I Ain’t Ashamed” is the sister track that looks inward. With “I Ain’t Ashamed,” Tim sings about being at peace with who he is because he stays true to his values and his heart.
One night on tour, while Tim was in the thick of planning the release of this new music, he stopped in a gas station. Receiving several terse stares on the way in (seemingly because everybody there had a different skin color than him), Tim struck up a friendly conversation with the little girl helping her mom on the night shift behind the cash register, quickly turning side eyes into smiles and winning over everybody in the store—even inviting everybody to check out his rig outside. Before leaving, the little girl gave Tim a picture she drew as a token of their newfound friendship—Tim placed it on the dash of his bus and drove off into the night. Unbeknownst to Tim, around the exact same time, his wife was in a vicious, unprovoked, racially motivated attack in Nashville where she was violently assaulted while being called white expletives. The next morning, while driving to his next tour stop, he was informed about his wife’s attack and was flooded with anger. Almost in tears of rage, he looked down to see the picture from the little girl. That picture is now the artwork for “Good By Me”.
“Whether that moment was divine intervention or fate, looking at that picture gave me a whole new perspective on the situation. Love is greater than hate. If we’re good to one another, greet people with a smile and strike up a conversation, it will always break down walls,” said Tim Montana. “I’m really proud of what these two songs stand for and it means a lot to me to share them with the world.”
The Montana native blends Country with rock electric guitar and influences from the West to create music that embraces hard and fast-living, the American experience and the blue-collar way. The music is unapologetic, relatable and raw and embraces the everyman and folks who ain’t afraid to do the dirty work.
Montana is a true Renaissance man, moonlighting as a TV personality, marksman, father, husband, foodie, hell-raiser, businessman and budding actor.
