Swedish oddities launch new play through clip

Having released two critically acclaimed albums this year (debut full-length, Duende, and EP,Echoes), Sweden’s The Great Discord is now launching a bass play-through for the track “A Discordant Call“, taken from Duende. To watch Rasmus Carlson’s performance of this progressive, technical masterpiece, head over to GearGods.net: geargods.net

Transcending genre labels and lazy classification, The Great Discord is a musical enigma. Their layered, textured music is inspired by the likes of GenesisKing CrimsonMeshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan – but at the same time, individually they look up to an array of musicians beyond the confines of progressive music. Described as “djent, thrash, doom, prog and black metal all rolled into one” (SkullsNBones.com), the quintet have left both media and fans awestruck at the talent and originality found on their two releases: Duende and EchoesDuende, being The Great Discord‘s debut full-length, captivated listeners, with media boldly proclaiming it as a new “standard for progressive metal” (DeadRhetoric.com); the recently released Echoes EP expanded on their sound even further, with the band putting their spin on classics by The Mars Volta andThe Deftones.
