Fury Weekend continues to drive down the neon highway towards his next album, dropping in late 2024, with his next single “Illusion Of Flight” (feat. Kirill Babiev).
For this track Fury Weekend enlisted the vocals of alternative rock vocalist Kirill Babiev. Kirill appeared on the Russian version of The Voice where he impressed the judges with his electrifying cover of Linkin Park’s “Numb.” In “Illusion Of Flight” Babiev’s vocals soar above the instrumentation adding another emotive layer to the single and creating a synergy that is undeniably powerful. Seamlessly blending elements of alternative, synthwave, and indie rock into a mesmerizing auditory journey with heartfelt vocals as Fury Weekend weaves a tale exploring the human experience. The track is a follow up to the previously released “Velvet Rain” (feat. Ravdina) and just as readily showcases Fury Weekend’s abilities as a producer.
In his own words, “This song is sequel to ‘Velvet Rain’, which was produced on my previous album Afterglow and continues a deepest feelings experience of a lyrical hero in a big cyberpunk city, and it is the most emotional song of the album.”
The Fury Weekend project was created when Belarus-based Ars Nikonov chose to combine his love of classic rock, electronic music, and ’80s culture into a forward-thinking music venture. The result is a dystopian synthwave sound that blends bright synth melodies and gritty guitar work into a singular music vision of the future.
The uniqueness of Fury Weekend should come as no surprise given the artist’s background, which involves ambitious projects ranging from industrial to post-rock. Diversant: 13, Cold in May, Martian Love, Seanine, and Tribal A.D. are some of the many names that fill Ars’ creative resume, and each of those has given the creator the experience and tools needed to make an impact with his retro-futuristic synthwave project.
Kirill Babiev is a Russian musician, member of the Times Square group, performing alternative rock. Kirill brilliantly “controls” his voice, he owns many extreme vocal techniques: growl, screaming, and pigvoise. In 2016, Babiev participated in the fifth season of the Voice show in Russia. He has worked with various groups and artists, including the singer Bianca and the winner of the New Wave contest Andrei Grizzly. Babiev is also a professional guitar teacher having taught at the Musical Wave School of Arts, and for the Show Monica Internet project, he created guitar covers and video lessons.
