Coming at you from Bridgend, home to Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My Valentine, South Wales metal beasts I FIGHT BEARS hurl out juggernaut riffage, imposing vocals, and thunderous beats, that suck you in and spit you out. Acclaimed for their stout riffs and full throttled vocals, the alluring crew have just released a surprising and fascinating rendition of Spandau Ballet‘s song, Gold, as their new single. I FIGHT BEARS rework the 80’s hit with a divergent tongue-in-cheek introduction before they power into their signature barrage of cleverly woven explosive riffs and dual vocal attacks. The single is out now via all platforms. and you can watch the video here.

Earlier this year, the Welsh heavyweights dropped their self-titled debut album, sparking glowing comparisons to Lamb Of God, Parkway Drive, and Killswitch Engage. The record pricked the interest of Metal Hammer, who placed the band on their cover CD, exclusively streamed the album, and backed the band with a feature in the magazine. The album was also widely praised from many acclaimed websites and online sources. I FIGHT BEARS’ live stock is on the rise too, and supports with the likes of The Word Alive, Continents, When We Were Wolves, Perpetua and Skies In Motion have only furthered their growth. The band are set to reach even more new fans when they soon support metal giants, Bleed From Within.
In regards to their intriguing cover for Gold, Vocalist and bassist Drew Hamley states about the track: “It started as a fun idea to cover at a party we were playing at. Chris our guitarist took the original song structure and tempo and wrote an incredible metal rendition. We played it live a few times at shows and people loved it. We had to get it released.” I FIGHT BEARS are currently working hard on follow up material to their debut album. Stay tuned to their social sites for updates.
