EVEN MORE REBELLIOUS

Published:

Their first single since their UK Top 10 album ‘See Through Blue’ was released, Scarlet Rebels are back with the serenely liberating track “Stand Up, Be Free”. A glorious, warming blend of soft rock balladry that brings twinkling guitar, bright piano and the ever-passionate vocals of frontman Wayne Doyle, “Stand Up, Be Free” is another earnestly heartfelt, inspiring anthem from the Welsh quintet. Listen here.

A band who thrive as philanthropic figures in the rock music community, having used their headline shows as a means to collect food bank donations and participated in a gruelling, live-streamed virtual cycle to raise money for the food bank charity The Trussell Trust, Scarlet Rebels’ compassion continues to be heard in “Stand Up, Be Free”, which brings with it a message of hope and empowerment.

Wayne comments: “I’m really happy that we’re going to be releasing one of the deeper cuts off of the ‘See Through Blue’ sessions. “Stand Up, Be Free” is very apt at the moment with all that’s going on in the world. The core of the song is about being non-apologetic for being who you are and standing up to chase your dreams down.”

“It’s so important that people are free to do what they want and to feel free to express themselves, particularly in the face of the oppression and tyranny that, unbelievably, we find ourselves witnessing at the moment…”

From 6th April, “Stand Up, Be Free” will be added to all digital versions of ‘See Through Blue’, thus offering fans an extended listening experience of the album on digital platforms, in comparison to the physical formats currently on sale.

Scarlet Rebels – completed by lead guitarist Chris Jones, guitarist/piano player Josh Townshend, Wayne’s brother drummer Gary Doyle and bassist Wayne “Pricey” Esmonde – are continuing to collect for local food banks at their headline shows in 2022, and those unable to attend their shows are welcome to donate approved items via grocery delivery services like Deliveroo. More information can be found here.

Scarlet Rebels’ headline album tour is currently underway. Full tour dates can be found below WITH EXTRA DATES ADDED.

See Through Blue’ is currently available to order on digital and physical formats at www.earache.com/scarletrebels – black vinyl, CD, signed colour vinyl (green/purple) and a rare ‘alternative artwork’ version with blue cover and vinyl are all available to purchase while stocks last.
