Damage Control is an international electro-industrial group centred around a core quartet of Bill Barsby, Richard Thacker and Alex Wise (all based in Australia), plus Markus App from Germany. Barsby and Thacker are originally from the UK.
‘Red Lines’ is a new EP out today on Metropolis Records consisting of three songs written and recorded by Damage Control in collaboration with the Canadian duo OHMelectronic. Comprised of Chris Peterson (Unit:187, Front Line Assembly, Delerium, Decree) and Craig Huxtable (Noise Unit, Landscape Body Machine), the pair released two albums in the 2010s and have recently resurrected the group.
“‘Red Lines’ is about psychological warfare, the endless cycle of human conflict and the hunger for power that lies in the hearts of men,” says Huxtable of the EP title track. “While the lyrics were inspired by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the same themes haunt America and it’s global conflicts. As tyranny and the fog of war repeats itself through every age, so too does the hope that we learn from our mistakes.”
The other songs on the new EP are ‘Manifesto’ and ‘Modernity’, the former already released as a single in July. It is produced by Peterson, who has been involved with the group since their 2017 debut album, ‘Ultranoia’, which also featured Huxtable. It is mastered by Greg Reely (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Fear Factory).
‘Red Lines’ follows an EP issued in June entitled ‘Master Of Silence’ that consisted of four songs recorded in collaboration with Leæther Strip (the Danish musician Claus Larsen).
