Counting Days Prison Break

Published:

Live show tomorrow, and new video now

Counting Days return with the new video for Prison of Misery and the first featuring new member, Curtis Ward (Ex-Bring Me The Horizon).

It was the first time I had performed with any of the guys.” Curtis explains “but it was a headbang fest and made me psyched to play shows.”

Prison of Misery is taken from debut album Liberated Sounds and the video was shot in an old underground theatre in North London that was turned into a car park but is being restored to its former glory. Talking about the location guitarist Charlie Wilson adds, “I was lucky enough to go to an exclusive Skepta show there about a year ago and knew it would be a great location for the video.” He continues “The lyrics for the song are influenced by the feeling of depression and anxiety, and how you can tear yourself apart from it” which adds further weight to the formidable track.

This video follows the announcement that former and original Bring Me The Horizon guitarist Curtis Ward has joined Counting Days on a full time basis. The band have been out on the road for much of 2016 so far ripping up stages with Crossfaith, Hacktavist andColdrain as well as supporting Architects on their incredible two sold out hometown album release shows over the weekend while next up are shows at Camden Rocks and Download Festival.

Produced by Fredrik Nordstrom (At The Gates, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Opeth, Architects, Bring Me the Horizon) at his Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden, Liberated Sounds subject matter hits on a number of recurring themes; mortality, relationships and religion all return throughout. The response to the album has been met with a wave of praise with Daniel P Carter proclaiming them “Crushing”, Rock Sound said they do metal better than “pretty much everyone out there”, Alex Baker at Kerrang Radio hailed their intensity whilst Metal Hammer claimed them to be “your new favourite band” and Kerrang Magazine described them as a “fierce, feral, metalcore left hook.”

Liberated Sounds was released on Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group on 16th October 2015.
