CODY PENNINGTON NEW SINGLE AND SHOWS

Published:

Nashville native Cody Pennington will release his new single, ‘Whiskey’s Better produced by Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, The Lumineers, Vance Joy) on 28 March 2025 – available to pre-save / pre-order now. With its rich storytelling, gritty vocals, and a melody that lingers like the burn of a smooth bourbon, ‘Whiskey’s Better’ is a track that echoes both heartbreak and resilience.

‘Whiskey’s Better’ is a turning point for me. It’s such a fun song, but it also represents a level in my career that has taken over 10 years to reach,” shares Pennington. “Working with Ryan has been a dream of mine since I was in the Air Force. Being able to finally fulfil that dream was a full-circle moment that makes all of my past work make sense. Something is working for me, and it’s great to have evidence of that. It’s certainly great for it to happen in the year that I do my first EU and AU tours and a huge UK tour. It all feels very ‘right place, right time-y’ to me.

Proudly independent, Pennington’s eclectic life journey has fuelled his rapidly growing presence in country music worldwide. Raised in a trailer park in East Nashville, Cody experienced humble beginnings where cheap guitars—and a family fond of music—became his main outlet. He taught himself to sing and play throughout high school and continued honing his craft during his enlistment in the US Air Force, booking and performing tours in countries such as Turkey, Greece, and the UK.

Following his military service, Cody ventured to Australia and even played music on cruise ships before taking a brief detour to earn a law degree. Ultimately, his true calling proved irresistible: country music. Since then, Cody has sold over 60,000 tickets and continues to captivate audiences with his heartfelt performances and undeniable stage presence.

In September 2023, Cody released his debut EP, Downtown, amassing over 2.5 million streams worldwide. The title track reached No. 1 on the iTunes Country Chart, paving the way for further success. His follow-up release, Cowboy Enough (2024), propelled him into a noteworthy tour—playing venues ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 capacities.

This May, Pennington will embark on his first-ever EU headline tour, which sold out four months in advance, totalling over 7,000 tickets. He takes his energetic show to Australia the same month and then the UK in late-2025 (Sep-Oct), where more than half of the tickets have already sold out.

His live performances channel the heart and soul of his Nashville roots while blending original country tunes with chart-topping hits, creating an unforgettable experience for music lovers around the globe.

With his independent spirit and relentless drive, Cody Pennington continues to chart his own course in the country music scene—proving that the journey is just as exciting as the destination.
