CODY PENNINGTON NEW SINGLE

Published:

Nashville-born independent artist Cody Pennington has released his latest single, ‘Thanks To You‘, a raw and honest anthem of heartbreak, regret, and coping the wrong way. Blending country grit with an unforgettable hook, the track tells the story of turning to the bottle when love leaves scars too deep to ignore, delivering a message that is both relatable and confessional.

Stream/download ‘Thanks To You’ here.

I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone for ‘Thanks To You’, especially with the production. I’m really happy with how it turned out. The intensity of the production matches the message of the song, at least how I intended it to. I really hope to hear the fans singing along to this one like they do to ‘Downtown’, ‘Cowboy Sitting at the Bar’, or ‘Nothing on Us’.

‘Thanks To You’ arrives in the middle of Pennington’s 30-date international headlining tour, currently taking the UK by storm. So far, he has sold over 21,000 tickets in the UK alone, with venues ranging from 1,000–2,000 capacity, part of a global tally exceeding 60,000 tickets sold across Europe, Australia, and the UK. These sales are a testament to his growing international appeal and it’s easy to see why, the energy and excitement in the venues when Cody takes the stage is nothing short of electric.

As an independent artist Pennington released his debut EP Downtown in 2023, which amassed over 2.5 million streams worldwide and reached #1 on the iTunes Country Chart. Then came the 2024 release of Cowboy Enough which helped spark the 2025 tour. His sold-out tours and growing global fanbase underscore his rise as a major independent artist in the country music scene.

Pennington’s journey to country music success is as eclectic as it is inspiring. Raised in a trailer park in East Nashville, Cody experienced humble beginnings where cheap guitars—and a family fond of music—became his main outlet. He taught himself to sing and play throughout high school and continued honing his craft during his enlistment in the US Air Force, booking and performing tours in countries such as Turkey, Greece, and the UK. Following his military service, Cody ventured to Australia and even played music on cruise ships before taking a brief detour to earn a law degree.

With ‘Thanks To You’, Pennington cements his reputation as a fearless storyteller unafraid to share the grit, heartache, and triumphs that shape his music.
