London based Chase The Day are gearing up to their album release on September 9th. ‘Tabula Rasa’ is an album full of the history of alt rock bringing with it a modern approach to the sound that made great bands great.  With the emphasis firmly seated in quality of the songs, this is matched by great recordings and kick-ass attitudes. The songs don’t just tell the story, they are the story.

Being the brainchild of James Kirsch (vocals/guitar), Tabula Rasa was birthed to realise the statement that music should be able to stand the test of time, breaking out of the genre defining restraints that are so prevalent in the industry today. With a sound that gives a celebratory hat-tip to the grunge era of the late 90’s, Chase The Day are releasing ‘Tabula Rasa’ in the hope that the music can once again be at the forefront of the music industry.

With their second single ‘Forget Your Name‘, Chase The Day treat us all to an up-tempo statement of intent, crafted to make you not only pump your fist, but also consider a message… “Thrown into that place where I forget your name, We’ve been here before but can we start again?”.

Artist Nevan Doyle talks about the album artwork: “We were looking for a way to express the album title and jumped off the idea of a blank slate: both the desert and water are different representations. The glass box also symbolises the womb in a way, so the idea of rebirth is explored there. Then we were extra cruel and toyed with the idea of both characters wanting what the other had, because they both saw it as a fresh start, a blank slate: Tabula Rasa.”
