Dark groove , new video
Taking on board the raw grit of Nirvana, the infectious groove of Royal Blood and the darkly stylings of Slipknot, Chambers were brought together by a mutual love of Grunge and horror, where they incorporate heavy and hefty riffs alongside raucous rhythms, with a lyrically powerful message. The band release their blistering new single Disappear, backed by the B-side Love Song, out now on via Warren Records. Watch the video here.
Born in the Summer of 2014 in Leeds and featuring Aeris Houlihan on Guitar/Vocals and Ellie Churchill on Drums, the duo have a unique and clear vision of what they want to create, aptly labelling themselves as Sister Doom. Drummer Ellie comments “When we formed Chambers, I wanted to be more involved creatively with song writing, contributing more than just putting drums to songs that have already been written. I wanted to share in the creative process with a guitarist”. With being a two piece, Guitarist/Vocalist Aeris has had to create an infectious buzzsaw guitar sound that commands the groove and also drives the riffs. She comments “I’ve developed my guitar sound into something more unique. A kind of growl. It wouldn’t work for all bands as it takes over a lot of the frequencies, but it certainly works for Chambers.”
Chambers believe that the song writing process is about heightening the senses through stepping out of the comfort zone. They certainly achieve this, as their music is a deliberate exploration, displaying much truth and honestly laced throughout, even in the artists themselves, as Aeris is openly transgendered.
With a recent glut of successful shows alongside Shopping, Black Honey, Gap Dream, Sister Mantos, The Mirror Trap and the Black Delta Movement, and with regular airplay from BBC Introducing, the band are on a swift upward curve.
