When Hamburg rockers Blast Bomb make their live debut in the UK this month its something of a home coming for frontman Johnny Rose.
Orignally hailing from Redditch, the former frontman of Birmingham Thirteen Shots had enjoyed a little success in Germany and this triggered the desire to try and make music in Germany.
Four years ago he embarked on the biggest adventure of his life, but it took almost a year for him to find the right musicians to work with.
Luckily old friends and experienced musicians Torben and Klaus (Guitar), Kai (Bass) and Tobi (Drums) was just starting their exciting new project and needed a singer, That man happened to be Johnny. Together the idea of Blast Bomb was born.
Following the release of the first single ´Born To Lose´ the band embarked on a string of successful shows around Germany and even moving into Belgium, Toning their skills as they went along.
Despite been a fairly new band, Live Blast Bomb developed a reputation for delivering an explosive show.
The release of the EP ´Burn History & Live Today´ continued to build the reputation of the band, starting to catch the attention of listeners back in Johnny´s Home land.
The release also led to supporting the likes of Conan and Monolord, Electric Eel Shock and Nick Oliveri´s Mondo Generator.
But the biggest show came back in October last year when the band was invited by American Alt Metallers Life Of Agony to join them on the Hamburg date of their European tour.
Coming to the UK is a huge moment for the band “I am delighted to be bringing the guys to my old hunting ground” beams Johnny “when we was talking about where to play, we had offers from a few other cities, but i wanted to focus on the area i grew up playing, Its going to be great to see some old friends and hopefully make a few new friends along the way”
Blast Bomb play three shows in the West Midlands at the end of February they are
27/02 – Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton
28/02 – Queens Head, Redditch
29/02 – Katie Fitzgeralds, Stourbridge
The Show in Redditch is to be professionally recorded for a live release.
“When we first talked about recording a live set to release I only had one location ion mind, It had to be my hometown, Who knows when I´ll be back so its great to have this memory” explains Johnny. The release is set for a Spring 2020 release on Undead Artists Records.
