Sean Taylor is a seasoned troubadour whose prolific songwriting is fuelled by the desire to turn the world into a song. Sean is excited to announce the final single ‘Only Beauty Can Save The World,’ on August 30th, 2024, ahead of his eagerly awaited new album The End Of The Rainbow, due for release on September 13th, 2024.
Tackling themes of love, desire, and social commentary head-on, Sean’s unique songwriting draws on Roots, Blues, Americana, Jazz, Folk, and even Spoken Word. No exception to this rule, ‘Only Beauty Can Save The World’ showcases Sean’s artistic versatility, with the understated piano refrain and husky vocals articulating a grimly honest yet hopeful call for ‘universal human rights’, a timely reminder that ‘Unless rights are universal, they are meaningless’.
Taylor’s new album, The End Of The Rainbow, is his second collaboration with Brighton-based producer Ben Walker and includes some of his most powerful and varied work. It follows his acclaimed 2023 album, Short Stories, which gained support from UK media, including Mojo, Classic Rock, Daily Mirror, and Metro.
Thematically, Taylor describes it as:“…an album of hope and despair. We are surrounded by war and deprivation: fear and famine. Terror is the daily reality for so many of us. Never have we been so divided, desperate, and alone. At the same time, there will always be hope. Resistance through solidarity, our collective experience, and the power of our shared humanity. The triumph of tenderness over cruelty.”
Sean Taylor’s influence extends far beyond the UK Blues scene. His talent has been acknowledged with nominations for the prestigious UK Blues Acoustic Artist of the Year award in 2023 and 2024, and he was the recipient of this year’s FATEA Male Artist of the Year award. His international acclaim is a testament to his captivating performances, having graced stages at renowned festivals like Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival (Australia), Ramblin’ Roots Festival (Netherlands), Avignon Blues Festival (France), and the Harvest Time Blues Festival (Ireland). He has also shared the stage with esteemed artists such as Robert Cray, John Fogerty and Band Of Horses.
Sean Taylor tours both solo and with his band, promoting his new album, The End Of The Rainbow.
