Milton Keynes pop-punk masters Get Your Head Straight, have just unleashed their second single ‘Medusa‘ from the soon to be released EP entitled ‘Contrast’. The new track delves into the bands hard-learned life lessons, with the realisation that not every person has your best interests in mind – something we can all associate with. Get Your Head Straight have crafted a heavy edged pop punk masterpiece with Medusa, full of melody, driving riffs and even a perfectly balanced solo.
Talking about the new single, Tyler Hall (Lead Vocals) comments:
“Medusa was a way to letting go of trust and a misguided belief that everyone was trust worthy. We hope to share the feeling of understanding while falling into the song and losing yourself the same way we do every time we play it.”.
Medusa is the second single from the upcoming debut EP, called Contrast, that is being released on 7th June. Both the single and EP are a great showcase of what you can expect from Get Your Head Straight. Capturing the raw energy usually only found in a live setting on a studio recording is no easy task, frenetic, frenzied fun from Milton Keynes.
Contrast offers up a slice of pop punk that will appeal to fans of giants of the genre from the last fifteen years like A Day To Remember, Sum 41 and New Found Glory. At the same time, it is an EP that looks forward, not just back, taking elements of past pop punk successes and putting a modern, 2019 spin on it.
