Birmingham post-punk six-piece Baudelaire share the exhilarating new single ‘Preacher‘ (video released Dec 17th). Building a reputation for their dark, noise-laden soundscapes, Baudelaire’s music delves into the raw and visceral aspects of the human condition, weaving intense, goth-tinged atmospheres that captivate audiences and critics alike.
As comparable to Fat Dog as it is to Gurriers and Chalk, ‘Preacher’ moves from its almost danceable opening beat, fuzzy bass, glitching electric guitar tones and urgent spoken word vocals, to a melodic, surprisingly catchy and driving energetic chorus. Growing through the second verse and chorus, the track reaches a dynamic middle-eight before ending with a climactic final chorus.
Talking about the track, the band describe it as: “Abrasive and frenetic – ‘Preacher’ is a noise-rock takedown of those that claim to have all the answers.”
Baudelaire have garnered airplay on the likes of BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6 as well as press coverage across Under The Radar, Earmilk, Notion, Ones To Watch, Punk News and The Punk Site. As well as critical acclaim, the band have also built a reputation for their high octane live shows with having opened for the likes of Frank Turner, Heartworms, Crows, and Egyptian Blue, and sold-out headline shows across the UK as well as in Paris.
