Groove metal just got extreme

Hungarian extreme groove metallers, “Omega Diatribe” have just released thier new album “Abstract Ritual” in the EU/USA too on the 11th of September.

Released by the American Independent Ear Records, the album features the legendary death metal drummer Kevin Talley on drums, and as Greg from the band told us: “You should know how killer drummer he is!”

Omega Diatribe was formed in 2008 by Gergo Hájer (guitar) and Ákos Szathmáry (bass). The band has a drummer change in 2010. The current lineup of the band comprises Gergo Hájer (guitars), Ákos Szathmáry (bass), Dávid Metzger (drums), Attila Császár (guitar) and Gergely Komáromi (vocal). They reckon they “bring some super heavy grooves combined with crazy polirhytmic elements.”

The band released their first promo track called Forty Minutes in the end of 2012.

After years of hard work in the end of 2013 Omega Diatribe has finally released their full-length debut album entitled IAPETUS.

IAPETUS contains 10 banging tracks with killer sounds. The guys recorded the CD on their own studio in Budapest. Mixed and mastered by the founder guitarist Gergo Hajer. The artwork was painted by the band’s drummer David Metzger, so the guys are doing the DIY thing. The band was signed with IAPETUS to the La Bam Prod. french label.

In the beginning of the summer of 2014 the band’s drummer David decided to leave the band, because he can’t push the to the same maximum as the others. After this incident the band started to co-operating with the legendary Kevin Talley and recorder a brand new song called ‘Hydrozoan Periods’ which was released on 2014.

Now they are back again.
