About the album theme, 1000mods comments: “The concept behind ‘Cheat Death’ draws heavy inspiration from the myth of Sisyphus as interpreted by Albert Camus. It grapples with the weight of existence itself, the absurdity of life, and how, despite the inherent meaninglessness, one can still find a way to survive, even thrive, in the face of that burden. In this endless cycle, Camus imagines Sisyphus happy, for it is in the acceptance of absurdity and the understanding that life has no grand meaning, that true freedom lies. The struggle and continuous act of pushing the rock is what gives life its value.
Similarly, ‘Cheat Death’ explores how one can confront the crushing weight of everyday life, the recurring cycles of effort and failure, and still find meaning in that struggle. Each song reflects the existential tension between the burden of existence and the resilience required to keep going and “cheat” death by refusing to give in to the despair of the absurd. It’s in the resistance, the daily struggle, and in defying the weight of existence itself that we cheat death.” Don’t miss their their latest video “Overthrown“!
