The Swedish classic rock and glam group Velvet Insane are back with their first new music in three years. Having signed to Icons Creating Evil Art (ICEA) in early 2026, ‘Wild In The City Tonite’ is out as a single today (25th September) and is the first track to be teased from ‘IV’, the quintet’s fourth album to be issued in March 2027.
Velvet Insane performed at the Kristianstad Rockfest in their home territory in July, following which it was confirmed that the renowned live booking agency CMG had taken the group under its wing. They proceeded to make a triumphant appearance at the annual showcase festival Live At Heart in Örebro in early September.
‘IV’ has been produced by Chips Kiesbye, whose CV includes the likes of The Hellacopters and Backyard Babies and is impressive enough to warrant its own press release. Every song on the album is written by the band, with ‘Wild In The City Tonite’ a hook-heavy party anthem taster that invites listeners onto the dancefloor.
From the song’s very first note, you’ll probably feel like throwing the TV out the window, so crank up the volume and put the champagne on ice – Velvet Insane is back with a vengeance, and they’re not asking for permission!
